Dubai’s economic agenda and exhibition investment provide context for an event-location decision. Use them as background, then judge each exhibition on its own audience evidence. The official figures below were checked on 12 October 2026.

What D33 actually targets

Dubai’s official government portal states that D33 was announced in January 2023 and aims to double the economy by 2033. It lists foreign-trade and foreign-investment targets of AED 25.6 trillion and AED 650 billion respectively. These are agenda targets, not achieved results.

Read DEC’s capacity by phase and metric

Dubai Exhibition Centre’s expansion page links the project to D33 and describes an AED 10 billion masterplan. It labels Phase 1 completed, listing an expansion to 140,000 square metres. Its Masterplan Vision 2031 separately lists 180,000 square metres of column-free exhibition space, a future plan rather than current bookable capacity.

Exhibition space, total built-up area and daily visitor capacity are different measures, so ask the venue for the actual halls, usable layout and services available for your dates.

Check travel and freight separately

DEC’s venue guide describes access from the Expo 2020 metro station and proximity to Al Maktoum International Airport. Confirm freight routes and transfer times with the organizer’s logistics team, and record the arrival airport, delivery windows and the organizer’s freight instructions.

Evaluate the specific exhibition

For an exhibitor, request the event’s latest audience evidence, how visitor counts are defined and the categories of buyers relevant to your product. Separate unique people from repeated visits and projected attendance. Ask for booth costs, approved services, meeting options and contractual terms before choosing a package.

For an organizer, compare available halls and layouts against your program. Check construction or service limitations, transport plans and the responsibility for approvals. Base the decision on the venue’s written offer.

Build a reviewable business case

A decision sheet should state the objective, total budget, buyer evidence, logistics assumptions and a follow-up plan. Include reasons to decline or postpone participation if key information is missing.
