For an exhibitor, Saudi Vision 2030 is context for a market decision; the case for a particular show rests on that show's own evidence. Separate national ambitions, the organiser's published offer and your own commercial case.

What the official announcements say

Informa's July 2023 announcement connected its Tahaluf joint venture to Vision 2030's economic diversification aims. It described Events Investment Fund as part of National Development Fund and identified technology, real estate, pharmaceuticals and hospitality among the sectors planned for the portfolio. Use it to see which sectors were targeted, then judge each show in your sector on its own evidence.

The official Expo 2030 Riyadh website lists 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031. Its figure of more than 42 million visits is a forecast, and it counts visits rather than unique visitors. Keep that in mind when sizing supplier or exhibition opportunities linked to the Expo.

Build a show-level business case

  1. Define the buyer: specify the industry, procurement role and type of organisation you want to meet. Ask whether the exhibitor directory and programme match that profile.
  2. Ask for evidence: request the previous edition's attendance definition, geographic breakdown and buyer recruitment method. Count decision-makers separately from total entries.
  3. Price the whole trip: include stand construction, utilities, freight, staffing, travel, accommodation and follow-up work. Compare exhibiting with a visitor-only trip.
  4. Set a decision rule: choose the qualified meeting or supplier discovery outcome that would justify the cost. Record assumptions before signing.

Check the venue and operational offer

For your chosen edition, obtain the current floor plan, access address, build-up schedule and exhibitor manual. Ask who is responsible for approvals, deliveries and mandatory services. Treat proposed airports, districts and destination developments as planning context until the specific facilities you need are available and contracted.

Verify travel before committing

The official Saudi eVisa portal offers a tourist visa route for eligible applicants and sets out the activities it permits. Check the official requirements for your nationality and purpose, and obtain the organiser's written guidance for your role. Treat event registration and the visa application as separate steps, and apply early enough to allow for processing.

Make a measured participation decision

Start with the Saudi Arabia event listings, then confirm the current edition on the organiser's official website. Keep a dated file of the offer, cancellation terms and assumptions. After the event, compare qualified meetings and subsequent opportunities with the cost you actually incurred. Base the decision to return on those results.
